Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 9, 2026. This policy explains what data Turbo Lingua may collect, why it is used, who may process it and what rights users have.
1. Scope and controller
This Privacy Policy applies to the Turbo Lingua mobile app, public website, support pages and related account services.
The Turbo Lingua operator is responsible for the service. Privacy requests can be sent through the support page or to turbolingua.support@gmail.com.
2. Information we may collect
Account data: name, email address, password credentials in protected form, sign-in provider, account status and session information.
Learning data: selected interface language, learning language, level, module progress, completed exercises, review history, streaks and local app settings.
Technical data: device type, operating system, app version, network requests, error logs, security events and approximate region derived from technical infrastructure.
Support data: email address, request topic, message text, screenshots or files voluntarily attached by the user.
3. Audio, microphone and speech practice
Turbo Lingua uses pre-generated audio for phrase playback. Audio files may be cached locally on the device after first playback to improve speed and reduce repeated network use.
Microphone access is requested only for speaking, pronunciation or speech-recognition features. Users can deny or revoke microphone permission in device settings.
Speech recognition may rely on device or platform services available on the user's operating system. Turbo Lingua should not be used to record sensitive personal information during practice.
4. Why we use data
We use data to create and secure accounts, provide language practice, sync progress, play audio, remember settings, send password reset or account emails, respond to support requests and improve reliability.
We may also use limited technical data to prevent abuse, investigate errors, protect the service and comply with legal obligations.
5. Legal bases for EEA and UK users
Depending on the feature, processing may be based on contract necessity, user consent, legitimate interests such as security and product reliability, or legal obligations.
Where processing depends on consent, such as optional microphone permissions or certain communications, consent can be withdrawn through app, device or account settings where available.
6. Service providers
Turbo Lingua may use trusted providers for hosting, storage, email delivery, analytics-free operational logs, authentication and platform services.
Providers may include Cloudflare for hosting, storage and API infrastructure; Gmail API or another email provider for account email; Google or Facebook for optional social sign-in; and official app stores for app distribution.
Providers may process data only as needed to provide their services, protect infrastructure, comply with law or follow their own user-facing terms when a user chooses a third-party sign-in provider.
7. Sharing and sale of data
Turbo Lingua does not sell personal information in the ordinary meaning of selling user data for money.
We do not plan to share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising in the initial release. If advertising or new data-sharing features are added later, this policy must be updated before those features go live.
8. Retention
Account and synced progress data are kept while the account is active or as needed to provide the service. Local cached files remain on the device until the app or cache is cleared.
Support messages and attached files should be kept only as long as needed to resolve the request, maintain records, prevent abuse or meet legal obligations.
9. Security
Turbo Lingua uses reasonable technical and organizational measures such as encrypted transport, restricted access, server-side checks and protected authentication flows.
No app or online service can guarantee absolute security. Users should protect their account credentials and avoid sharing sensitive information through support messages or screenshots.
10. International transfers
Service providers and infrastructure may process data in countries other than the user's country. Where required, appropriate safeguards should be used for international transfers.
11. User rights
Depending on location, users may have rights to access, correct, delete, export or restrict the use of personal information, object to certain processing, withdraw consent and lodge a complaint with a data protection authority.
California residents may have rights to know, delete, correct, limit use of sensitive personal information and opt out of certain sale or sharing. Turbo Lingua does not currently sell personal information.
Requests can be made through the support page or by emailing turbolingua.support@gmail.com. We may need to verify the account or request before acting on it.
12. Children
Turbo Lingua is not intended to knowingly collect personal information from children where parental consent is legally required. If a parent or guardian believes a child provided personal information, they should contact support.
Age ratings, child-directed settings and store requirements are reviewed as required by applicable app store rules and law.
13. Changes
This policy may change as Turbo Lingua evolves. Material changes should be reflected on this page and, where appropriate, inside the app.
